Are you taking bookings for public workshops under level 2?
We are open for business under level 2. We will be taking bookings as per our normal process. Note that priority will be given to people wishing to rebook due to cancellations under alert level 3 and 4 restrictions.
My workshop was cancelled, what should I do?
You should have been contacted to rebook onto a new workshop or to arrange a credit note which will be valid for 6 months. If you have not yet been contacted, please reach out to our friendly team.
What if I feel uncomfortable attending a workshop under level 2?
Our number one priority is customer safety under level 2. We have robust health and safety protocols in place to minimise risk in our training environments. However, we also understand that some customers may feel uncomfortable attending a public course or may need to continue to self-isolate due to being in an at-risk category. In these circumstances we will offer the opportunity to postpone training for up to 6 months at no extra cost.
What safety measures are in place at your training venues under level 2?
Each of our venues have strict health and safety processes in place and are well versed in operating under level 2. Their procedures cover areas such as:
- Hand washing and/or the provision of hand sanitiser
- Room sanitisation
- Contact tracing
- Social distancing
- Food consumption
- Course materials
You will also be taken through a safety briefing at the beginning of each workshop to ensure everyone is fully aware of the required procedures.
Do I have to wear a face covering during a workshop under level 2?
It is your personal decision on whether to wear a face covering during the workshop. The government has confirmed the workplaces where you must wear a face covering:
- work in the public-facing area of a court, tribunal, local or central government agency or social service provider
- are a delivery driver to residential addresses — delivery drivers only need to wear a face covering when they are out of their vehicle
- work at a cafe, restaurant, bar, nightclub, soup kitchen or any other food or drink business in a customer-facing role
- work for a close contact service — for example, hairdressers or beauty therapists
- work at a retail store — including those that were operating at Alert Levels 3 and 4
- work at an indoor public facility — for example, a library or museum — employees working at a swimming pool do not need to wear a face covering
- are a driver of a taxi, ride-share vehicle, ferry, bus or train used for public transport — this excludes school buses and ferries between the North Island and South Island.
Some of our third party venues may require a face mask as part of their own health and safety policy. In this event individual learners will be made aware of this requirement prior to attending.
How will social distancing be implemented in the workshop under level 2?
Our workshops are considered an extension of your workplace. The Ministry of Health guidance is that all workers should keep at least 1 metre apart, where possible, when at work. Our training rooms will be organised so that learners are adequately spaced when seated, with at least 1m between each learner. Our facilitators will ensure learners maintain the 1m rule when on breaks, when eating, and when entering and exiting the training room.
Will you tell us if someone in our workshop gets COVID-19 and we might have been exposed?
In the event that one of our learners test positive for COVID-19, we will immediately follow the government’s guidelines around informing anyone at risk of potential infection, and ensure the right people are kept informed.
What will happen with the catering for your public workshops?
We will continue to offer catering for participants. We have suppliers who are able to provide contactless delivery of individually wrapped/boxed lunches and snacks, all following strict health and safety protocols.
I’m not feeling well today, should I still come to the workshop?
If you are feeling unwell or showing symptoms of COVID-19, please remain at home. We have updated our booking policy so that in these circumstances you can request a credit and postpone your training for up to 6 months. Please contact us to make the necessary arrangements.
I’m immune-compromised, is it safe for me to come to a workshop under level 2?
If you are immune-compromised or on immunosuppressant drugs and concerned about attending an in-person course, you can postpone your booking at no extra cost for up to 6 months.
I’d like to swap from an in-person course to an online course, is this possible?
Yes it is. We have updated our booking policy so that in these circumstances you can request a credit and you can apply this to an online workshop free of any additional booking charges. Please contact us to arrange this.
